1889年、当時のドイツの工業生産総額は農業を上回り、工業大国になりました。イギリスが100年近くかけて完成させた産業革命は、ドイツでは半分以下の時間で完了しました。

1914年に第一次世界大戦が勃発し、ドイツの自動車工業は基本的に独立した工業部門を形成し、ガソリンエンジンの自動車への応用はますます普及している。ガソリンエンジンは石油化学製品に大きな発展のきっかけを提供した。これも後に「ノーバート」の成功のために強固な基礎を築いた。

1929年、その創始者トーマス(トーマス)はドイツ北部にある「化学の都」と呼ばれるルヴィヒ港にトーマスという化学会社を設立し、主に石油化学製品の技術開発、生産製造に従事した。たまにのパーティーで、トーマス(トーマス)は運命を徹底的に変えた。当時、ベンツ会社のトップフリートリッチ・ベンツと知り合い、二人はそれ以来ビジネス上の交際を持っていた。

1931年、トーマスケミカルは独自の自動車用オイルの生産を開始し、マンハイム工業港に最初の外部生産会社を設立しました。それ以来、ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社が誕生しました。

メルセデスベンツに自動車用潤滑油製品を供給することに加えて、ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社は他のドイツの自動車会社にも潤滑油製品を供給しています。ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社の潤滑油製品はドイツでのみ販売されています。潤滑油製品の最初のバッチが製造された日から、ドイツの自動車会社を中心に数十年が経過しました。第二次世界大戦中、ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社は、戦争軍によって機械的に使用された潤滑油製品をナチス軍に供給しました。

1973年に世界ラリー選手権が開催されました。ドイツの自動車参加イベントに伴い、ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社の潤滑油製品も自動車で海外に出始め、他の国の消費者に自動車イベントを認識させ始めました。1981年以来、ドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社は多くのラリー選手権を後援してきました。それ以来、ノルベルト潤滑油は世界中で販売されています。

現在までに、ノーバート潤滑油は世界46か国で販売されており、70を超えるマーケティング代理店が設立されています。

ますます過酷なレース環境の要件を満たし、高性能潤滑油製品を開発するために、1987年にドイツのノルベルト石油化学会社はミュンヘンに最初の研究所を設立しました。それ以来、ノルベルト潤滑油の技術開発は虎の翼のようなものです。

1997年に「ノルベルト合成油」が登場し、ドイツで流行し、製品は最初に合成基油を採用して作られ、世界で最も早く合成油を採用して潤滑油を生産するブランドの一つである。

1999年、二次水素化クラッキング技術が製品開発に適用されました。同社のすべての製品は、ハイエンドの潤滑油製品をブレンドするために水素化油を使用しています。モービルとシェルと同じ時期に、二次水素化ベースオイルを使用して潤滑油を製造した最初の会社。

1996年、産業の継続的な発展に伴い、ミュンヘン研究所は、現代の産業機器の潤滑に適した新しいハイエンドオイル製品を開発し、産業用潤滑油の販売が増加するにつれて、2000年にノーバートは産業用オイルの供給に焦点を合わせました。2006年、産業用オイルの販売は、ある時点で自動車用オイルの販売を上回りました。
